Hello, my name is Lissa and I am an interior designer living
in Atlanta , GA. For as long as I can remember I have
been a lover of interior design and yes I also rearranged my room often as a
kid. Interior Design has always been something I was interested in.
When time came to make a decision on what I wanted to be
when I grew up my mom mentioned I should look at schools that had Interior
Design as an option. I did just that and graduated with a BS in Interior Design
in 2004 from Meredith College in Raleigh ,
NC . I am huge proponent for
getting a degree if anyone wants to make interior design their career. You
really do learn so much and come out with a great foundation to then learn even
more in the real world.
After graduating I moved to Atlanta and have worked for a few
architecture and hospitality interior design firms. Big huge spaces with big
huge budgets….lots of fun and lots of work. I have learned so much about design
and am still learning to this day. I now work for an international hotel brand
and love it!
I also met my husband in Atlanta and we now live in a
(rented) townhome that we work at making a cozy home for the two of us and our
cute pup Wallace….not a big project or big budget. We both work full time and then
spend what free time we have working little by little to make our home a place
we love. Don’t worry we also get out and spend time in this great city we live
in too. Someday we hope to have a place to call our own that we can really dig
into. I can’t wait to take a sledge hammer to my first wall, and tile my first
backsplash.
I started After Adornment as a place to corral all of my design
ideas and inspiration. There is always something going on in my head whether it
is a cool new idea or just something really pretty that I saw. I also hope that
I can teach you some of the things I have learned along the way. I am always
learning something new.
So, thanks for stopping by my little piece of the internet
and I hope you come back often. If you ever have questions about me or just
design in general please don’t hesitate. I would be more than happy to answer
anything you may want to know.
