Rebecca Asher spent many summers at Sandhill, a home rented by family friends every summer. I would have tagged along too! No work was done to the outside of the home and the original Nantucket charm was kept (also because of the strict area preservation laws). No problem that I see.
Though no structural changes were made to the exterior shell the inside was opened up and made more bright and airy. With a style that Asher calls "Nantucket meets Miami" the resulting space is nothing short of pristine. The entire home was painted white and the furnishings brought in are light and comfortable. A perfect space to relax. That is what you are supposed to do at the beach after all right?
And on a side note.....I need that coffee table!
Such great open and bright spaces to relax. All the rooms look so clean and uncomplicated providing the perfect retreat for the mind as well. All of the furniture and finishes chosen are low maintenance and allow the family to spend time enjoying the beach and each other.....instead of cleaning or worrying about sand on the furniture.
And, the bedrooms are so peaceful its hard to not imagine sleeping with the cool ocean breeze coming through the windows. Oh man....I need to get here fast!
Ohhhh, and to see the ocean from a long leisurely soak....heaven on earth.
Hope everyone is having a wonderful summer so far. Anyone have a fabulous beach vacation coming up? I am looking forward to my annual trip in September. It can't get there soon enough. Stay cool in this heat and have a great week!
