Fantastic Frenchy

In the May issue of Elle Decor there is an amazing spread on a Paris apartment designed by Jean-Louis Deniot.

Some may think nothing new here.....been done.......typical mix of parisian architecture and modern furniture. Well, that may be true, but I couldn't stop turning the pages back and forth. Each time I would look I found something new that I loved!

See for yourself......

I love the grey stone fireplace mantle and those settees.....and then I noticed the tiny floor lamps....perfect and unassuming. The layered style of the accessories on the mantle is nice also.
Of course the mouldings are to die for.....but I also love the chandelier's simplicity and the curled base on the end tables. The sofa fabric is also a great subtle diamond pattern.
Love the diamond motif used on the floor and then mimicked in the large mirror. Of course that sheep adds a bit of the unexpected but my eye really went crazy for the painted fabric console skirt. And, the wall treatment is wonderful as well....can't tell if its wallpaper, faux paint technique, or perhaps the real thing???
Love the clean lines and simplicity of this room. Another grey stone mantle yet more understated and clean compared to the living room, and cleaner mouldings. And that profile at the top of the chair back kicks it up a notch. In the back....that wonderful dark stain on the french doors. Again the amazing chandelier. The lighting in the entire home is spectacular and achieves the prefect balance of making a statement but not taking over the room.
What can I say except what a great pendant. I also love the cabinet finish and the diamond pattern done with a simple clean change of grain direction. Not expected at all in the world of painted white kitchens with white or black counters.
Love the simple bedding...keeping things clean and sleek. The accent panel painted above the bed adds the right amount of "focal point" this room needs.  And did you see the painted band around the room.

See what I mean? Love everything!
I also wanted to say thank you so much for all the sweet comments and well wishes on the new job.  It's been a couple of days and I am still getting situated but I am loving it! Thanks!!!!
